Julia trained with Norton Rose Fulbright LLP and was promoted to partner in the London tax team with effect from 1 January 2021. Her practice focuses on the tax aspects of real estate transactions, real estate financing and both private and listed funds across a broad range of asset classes. In addition, she often advises on corporate transactions, particularly in the renewables space. She has over 20 years of experience advising on the tax structuring of collective investment schemes, with an emphasis on closed-ended listed funds, unit trusts and limited partnerships as well as advising in relation to real estate tax, general corporate tax, and tax disputes.
Julia regularly acts for institutional investors on their proposed investment into fund structures as a limited partner, and works closely with the Norton Rose Fulbright US tax team on matters involving underlying US investments. She also acts on the GP/sponsor side, advising on the tax structuring of fund formation, including feeder structures and fund distribution.
Julia is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and a member of the British Property Federation (BPF) Tax Committee and the Stamp Taxes Practitioner's Group (STPG).
