Gregory Hill was called to the Bar in 1972 after studying at Exeter College, Oxford, where he obtained first class degrees in Jurisprudence and in the BCL. He taught part-time at Exeter College from 1972 to 1977. He was a Hardwick and Kennedy Scholar of Lincoln's Inn.
He has a mixed Chancery practice, covering property law, including land law, conveyancing and land registration; secured lending, including documentation, priorities and enforcement; administration, receivership and insolvency and related aspects of company law; landlord and tenant; trusts, wills and probate.
He has contributed to Butterworths Encyclopædia of Banking Law since 1982, editing the sections on mortgage and debenture securities; he is co-author of Butterworths New Law Guide to The Land Registration Act 2002; and he has contributed material on mortgages and debentures to Banking Law Guide, LexisNexis Butterworths, 2006.
He has been one of the Conveyancing Counsel of the Court since October 2007.
