What does Payment Notice mean? In construction payment practice, a payment notice is the document that states the sum due for a particular payment and how that figure has been calculated. In England and Wales and Scotland it is a statutory notice under the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996, section 110A (as amended). A broadly equivalent regime applies in Northern Ireland under the Construction Contracts (Northern Ireland) Order 1997 (as amended).
