Request

A party in need of urgent interim relief, before the Arbitral Tribunal is constituted, may apply for the appointment of an emergency arbitrator (Rule 12.1). A request for an emergency arbitrator can be submitted (Rule 12.2):

  • before submitting the notice of arbitration;
  • when submitting the notice of arbitration; or
  • at any time prior to the constitution of the Arbitral Tribunal.

If the request is made before the notice of arbitration, the notice must be filed within 7 days thereafter (Rule 12.3)...
