Statement of case definition

What does Statement of case mean? Documents that set out a party’s case in civil litigation: the written pleadings that define the issues for trial and the relief sought. In England and Wales, “statement of case” is a defined CPR term (r 2.3) and includes the claim form, particulars of claim, defence, reply to defence, any Part 20 claim (e.g. counterclaim or other additional claim), and any further information served under Part 18.
