Home to more than 700,000 people across 33 square kilometres, Macau is a Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) operating under the ‘one country, two systems’ framework. Consequently, it enjoys substantial economic autonomy. Recognised as a distinct customs territory, Macau maintains a liberal marketplace and functions as a free port.
