A general meeting is a meeting of a company’s members (shareholders) to consider and vote on business such as ordinary and special resolutions, including matters that cannot be passed by written resolution (for example, removing a director or auditor). It is the main forum for shareholder decision‑making and may be held at any time, subject to statutory notice and the company’s articles, with quorum, proxy and voting rules applying.
