This Flowchart steers you through the lawful mechanisms for sending personal data to a country outside the UK, for example:

an adequacy decision or regulation
appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses (SCCs) or the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), or binding corporate rules (BCRs)
a derogation
