What is the SFTR?

The EU Regulation on reporting and transparency for securities financing transactions—Regulation (EU) 2015/2365 (SFTR)—aims to boost clarity around SFTs. It places obligations on parties involved in these deals, requires SFTs to be submitted to trade repositories, adds extra reporting duties for investment managers, and brings in a requirement for advance risk disclosures plus written consent before any asset reuse. Key requirements of the SFTR
