The difference between training courses and training presentations

A training presentation is mostly one-way communication—a message to be delivered with limited audience involvement. A training course is interactive, with the trainer actively involving delegates and learning taking place through suitable activities and discussions as well as the presentation itself. The two formats share some common ground at the outset, and this Practice Note reflects that overlap.

Clarity of purpose

Every learning event should have a clear objective. Before drafting a training presentation or course, think about:
