This Practice Note outlines the steps a Respondent ought to take when served with a Request for Arbitration under the 2021 International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Rules of Arbitration (ICC Rules). The 2021 ICC Rules govern ICC arbitrations begun on or after 1 January 2021, unless the parties have expressly chosen an earlier version (for example, in the arbitration clause). What to do on receiving the Request for Arbitration
