  • Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCCA 2024) (Unchanged): A Bill to regulate competition in digital markets, amend the Competition Act 1998 and the Enterprise Act 2002, and make provision for consumer rights. Across the consumer protection landscape, changes include the revocation of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015. This Practice Note This Practice Note reviews mechanisms used in settling litigation. A Tomlin order consists of a consent order paired with a schedule. It operates to stay proceedings on terms that have been agreed. The provisions contained in the schedule may remain confidential. This Practice Note describes the scope of confidentiality attaching to the schedule and sets out how it differs from a standard consent order. Sample wording for a Tomlin order is included, alongside links to precedents, as well as guidance on court approval.
