Tax relief definition

What does Tax relief mean? Reduction of a taxpayer’s liability achieved through statutory deductions, allowances, exemptions or credits. In legal practice, “tax relief” is a descriptive umbrella rather than a single defined term; individual reliefs are created and defined in specific tax statutes and operate across different taxes. Further guidance is provided on interpreting and applying the relevant provisions of the CPR; however, some courts and divisions impose very specific requirements for both drafting and approval, and for approaching the schedule and confidentiality issues.
