Overview

This one‑minute guide summarises updates to the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017, SI 2017/692 (MLRs), introduced by the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2022, SI 2022/860, as they apply to financial services. It concentrates on revisions regarding:

  • proliferation financing
  • cryptoassets businesses
  • Annex 1 financial institutions
  • FCA AML/CTF supervision
  • information sharing and information gathering
  • reporting discrepancies and the Register of overseas entities
