Plot sales—overview

A 'plot sale' is the expression widely used for the disposal of newly built residential homes by a developer. The usual pattern is that the developer lays out an estate, constructs houses in line with its plans, and then sells the land together with the completed dwellings to a number of purchasers. That said, 'plot sale' can also describe the situation where only a single dwelling has been delivered. Where an estate comprises multiple properties, the sale documentation is commonly in a standard form.

It operates to stay proceedings on terms that have been agreed. The provisions contained in the schedule may remain confidential.
