“It's hard to quantify, right now. But at a guess, I'd say it's probably more than 50% faster, at times. It's literally that quick. We've found to be an essential practical tool. We're very satisfied.”

Pixel meaning

What does Pixel mean?
In legal practice, a pixel is the smallest addressable picture element in a digital image or video frame, from which resolution is measured. Pixel count and density affect image clarity, identifiability and reliability of CCTV, body‑worn video and other digital evidence, and inform decisions on disclosure, admissibility, expert analysis, and whether pixelation (blurring by reducing resolution) sufficiently anonymises individuals. Compression and low pixel density may introduce artefacts relevant to weight and challenge. “Pixel” is a descriptive technical term rather than a statutory definition, but it appears across media, IP and criminal/civil procedure contexts. Specifications in contracts (for example, broadcast or streaming deliverables) often stipulate pixel dimensions and bit depth. In data protection and e‑privacy, a “tracking pixel” (also called a web beacon) is a tiny image or code used to record user behaviour on websites, apps or emails. Use of tracking pixels generally requires prior consent under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the Irish ePrivacy Regulations, alongside UK GDPR/EU GDPR transparency, lawful basis and accountability obligations (including DPIAs and controller/processor allocation). These usages and obligations are broadly consistent across England & Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland.

US: iStockPhoto moves to compel arbitration or Alberta forum in US$250m VPPA class action over Meta Pixel tracking

In a 28 June 2024 filing seeking to compel arbitration, the image platform informed the court that lead plaintiff, Larion Krayzman, agreed to user terms through his subscription, which encompass a privacy policy and a content licence. According to the company, that licence obliges him to resolve any disputes arising under the agreement through arbitration. Krayzman alleges iStockPhoto breached the federal Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) by deploying Facebook’s Meta Pixel to target iStock users with adverts on the platform. As iStockPhoto summarised, the plaintiff argues this routine, widely used tactic violates the VPPA by purportedly transmitting his and the putative classes’ personally identifiable information to Facebook...
