CMA analyses consumer impacts of agentic AI and issues compliance guidance for businesses

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has released analysis on the rise of agentic AI and its shift from reactive tools to autonomous systems that can sense, decide and act, and has issued compliance guidance for businesses. It explains that agentic AI could deliver major gains by reducing friction, lowering cognitive load, and enabling hyper‑personalisation, proactive support and better access to tailored deals in complex markets. It operates to stay proceedings on terms that have been agreed. The provisions contained in the schedule may remain confidential.
