Assignment and adjudication—contractor’s claim against employer’s assignee fails (Grove Construction v Bagshot Manor)

In Grove Construction (London) Ltd v Bagshot Manor Ltd [2025] EWHC 591 (TCC), the TCC declined to enforce an adjudicator’s award obtained by the contractor against the employer’s assignee. The court concluded that the adjudicator lacked jurisdiction, as a dispute between the contractor and the assignee could not amount to a dispute ‘under’ the construction contract. It operates to stay proceedings on terms that have been agreed. The provisions contained in the schedule may remain confidential.
