Specifically, in April 2025 the administration levied tariffs under the US International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) on goods originating in the EU, as well as section 232 and section 301 duties on cars and car parts, and it has extended section 232 duties on steel and aluminium to include beer and empty aluminium cans.
