Welsh Government launches consultation on changes to permitted development rights

The Welsh Government has opened a consultation seeking views on proposed changes to various permitted development rights in relation to: air source heat pumps (ASHPs), off-street parking electric vehicle charging units, temporary camp sites, development by statutory undertakers, emergency affordable housing and interim uses, the definition of major development, and reverse vending machines (RVMs). Crown development: new routes for planning application

The Levelling-up and Regeneration Act 2023 (LURA 2023) created two routes to apply for planning permission for the development of Crown land in England:

  • where the development is considered to be of national importance and where it is necessary that the development be carried out as a matter of urgency (sections 293B and 293C of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (TCPA 1990)), and

It operates to stay proceedings on terms that have been agreed. The provisions contained in the schedule may remain confidential.
