Checklist of supporting documents for permission to stay

Format for translations

Any documents not in English or Welsh must be supplied with a translation that includes:

  • certification by a qualified translator, plus details of the translator’s or translation company’s credentials that the Home Office can verify independently
  • contact information for the translator or the translation company
  • a statement confirming it is a true and accurate rendering of the original
  • the date the translation was completed
  • the full name and signature of the translator or an authorised official of the translation company

Format for documents

All identity documents provided must be originals, unless stated otherwise. Submit supporting evidence as clear A4 copies of the originals. Do not bring originals to the centre for scanning. For most applications, supporting documents are uploaded digitally before the Appointment. Alternatively, you may bring copies to your appointment to be scanned by a staff member on the day (a fee applies)...
