1 Introduction

1.1 The entitlement to shared Parental leave (SPL) enables eligible staff to decide how they split caring for a child in the first year following adoption. This entitlement is open to the child’s adopter and one additional person, who must be that adopter’s spouse, civil partner or partner. Either, or both, of these qualifying individuals may work for the Company.
